One West Ham United player was particularly poor during our clash with Crystal Palace at the London Stadium this afternoon.

The West Ham fans were brought back down to earth with a bang after Crystal Palace completely outplayed us, and the same can be said for Graham Potter.

He will be under no illusions now at the size of the task lying in front of him at the London Stadium.

Potter has already highlighted the need for new arrivals, and that requirement will be even more pressing now.

The recruitment has been so poor over the past few years that we now have a slow, ageing group of players.

Potter has to address that by adding some real energy and pace to his ranks.

Today’s clash with Palace proved just how far off it the players are, and one man in particular epitomised our lethargic performance.

West Ham man Guido Rodriguez nowhere near Premier League level

Guido Rodriguez joined the Hammers from Real Betis on a free transfer in the summer.

However, the 30-year-old has failed to establish himself at all at the London Stadium.

Rodriguez has been miles off the pace, and is clearly not suited to the robust and physical nature of English football.

The former Betis midfielder was absolutely woeful for the Hammers against Crystal Palace this afternoon.

However, the good news is that West Ham can sell him for a profit.

The Hammers didn’t pay a penny to bring the 30-year-old midfielder to the London Stadium in the summer.

And it has been claimed that Rodriguez could return to his homeland in the January transfer window.

And the East London outfit are allegedly looking for around £3 million to move him on.

If the Hammers owners receive an offer anywhere near that kind of money, they need to sell him without hesitation.

Guido Rodriguez isn’t good enough to play for West Ham in the Premier League. And after his performance against Crystal Palace today, Potter surely realises that as well.
