Salah: I'm humbled…and I dream of breaking this record International sport

Al Malaeb Newspaper –

Liverpool star Egyptian Mohamed Salah noted how much he has improved since joining the Reds in 2017.

Salah's impressive performances at Liverpool have seen him score 231 goals and provide 104 assists in 375 appearances for the Reds since joining from Roma in the summer of 2017.

When asked if he feels he is still improving as a player, Salah replied on Liverpool's official website: “Yes… I think so. I think when the players feel like they've reached their full potential, they'll start to regress. I think I'm a very humble person and I ask the players what they think I am.'

He added: “Even if they are younger than me and may not have achieved what I have achieved, it is part of my personality: I ask them to tell me because others can see things that you cannot see yourself . So I ask them, 'What do you think I can improve?' “…But I always think there are a lot of things I can improve.”

Salah was asked if he could surpass the 44 goals and 14 assists he scored in his first season at Liverpool, and he replied: “I hope so! The plan is to surpass these numbers because the numbers so far are very good, so I hope I can break them. But again, I don't want to break them.' Without winning titles, I want to win titles, and even if my numbers are a little lower, that's okay, but I just want to win a big title. .”

I'm humble… and my feelings for Liverpool are incredible

He added: “Winning the Golden Boot for the fourth time will be very difficult because there are many attackers who score a lot of goals and perform great. Winning three times is great in my opinion because wingers usually win the game at most once in the English Premier League. So: “Winning three times is not easy for me. I am very humble and grateful.”

He continued: “My feelings for Liverpool are incredible. I say I enjoy every moment at this club, even if we face difficulties. I just try to think: 'Okay, enjoy the moment', because this experience may not come back.” People sometimes run away from bad experiences, but I don't do that. With every experience I go through, I say: 'I'm happy to be here in this situation and living this experience', because after football you win'. I don't live this way.”

He continued: “Players always want good memories, but when I look at it, it doesn't always have to be a positive memory… Good or bad depends on how you look at it, it's your definition of 'good' or ' bad'. So I always try to say, 'Okay, it's a new experience, I have to accept it and express the feeling around it.'”

Asked whether his and the team's performances this season were the result of a positive mentality and strong determination, Salah said: “Yes… definitely. Before the season I said, (well, this is a different coach. I'm not doing that). I don't know if the team will be different or not, but I want… “Just work the same way and enjoy the football and see where the season ends.”
