Everton v Aston Villa – Wednesday, 7.30pm

A new era begins for Everton on Wednesday, they take on Aston Villa in the Premier League at Goodison Park. – Bet with William Hill.

Sitting sixteenth in the Premier League and just one point above the drop, something had to change at Everton. The Blues called time on Sean Dyche’s time at the club and wasted no time in appointing their new manager, with David Moyes returning to the club after 12 years. The biggest challenge for David Moyes will be getting goals out of his side, the Toffees have scored just fifteen goals in their nineteen Premier League games, only Southampton have scored less (12). A third home league victory this campaign wouldn’t move Everton up the table but could extend their cushion from the bottom three to four points.

Unai Emery’s side had to come from behind against West Ham in the FA Cup, they secured consecutive 2-1 victories following their win against Leicester City. Villa have a tough couple of weeks on the horizon with a trip to Arsenal followed by a visit to Monaco in the UEFA Champions League but they’ve got to get past Everton first, a victory here on Wednesday night could move Emery’s men into the top six depending on results elsewhere. However, that’s easier said than done given the Villans have lost six of their last seven away games in all competitions, their last away win in the Premier League came back in October against Fulham.

I’m sure we can expect a “new manager bounce” from Everton in this one, Goodison Park will be up for this. Despite Aston Villa winning three of the last five at this stadium, the other two ended in a stalemate and i’m going to back the same here.

Prediction: Draw, Everton 1-1 Aston Villa.

Leicester City v Crystal Palace – Wednesday, 7.30pm

After dropping into the bottom three, Leicester City will be looking to bounce back and stop the rot against Crystal Palace, with the two sides coming head-to-head at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday night.

Leicester City went the right away about business in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon, the Foxes dismantled Championship side QPR and advanced into the fourth round with a 6-2 victory. That’s Ruud van Nistelrooy’s first victory since his opening game win against West Ham back at the start of December. It’s not been the best start for the Dutchman, five defeats in his last five Premier League games has seen Leicester City drop down the table and into the relegation zone at the halfway point, with just two points separating them from safety, they must make sure it doesn’t get away from them.

After a terrible start, Oliver Glasner has seen an improvement from his side suggesting his side are finally getting up to match fitness. The Eagles put that disappointing 5-1 defeat to Arsenal behind them quickly with a 2-1 victory against Southampton sandwiched between two stalemates against Bournemouth and Chelsea. Whilst an FA Cup victory against Stockport County extended their unbeaten run to four games in all competitions, another win here would extend their gap to Wednesday’s opponents to ten points, a huge gap.

Looking at recent meetings between the two sides, three of the last five games have seen both teams share the points, whilst either side have taken victory in the other two. It’s worth noting Palace have won just one of their last five visits to the King Power, i’m expecting both teams to find the back of the net but we could be in for another draw.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Draw, Leicester City 1-1 Crystal Palace.

Newcastle United v Wolverhampton Wanderers – Wednesday, 7.30pm

Newcastle United will welcome Wolves to St James’ Park on Wednesday night in this Premier League clash.

It’s been a fantastic few weeks for Newcastle United and Eddie Howe, his side have won all of their last eight games across all competitions, including their last five Premier League games, a run of form which has seen the Magpies climb up the table and into fifth, just five points off the top two. Not only that, Eddie Howe’s side have got one foot in the Carabao Cup final following a 2-0 victory in the first leg away to Arsenal, things are looking really good at the moment in the North East. Newcastle haven’t won six PL games in a row since the 2022/2023 campaign.

There’s no doubt that Vítor Pereira has made a real difference since taking over at Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Old Gold have lost just one of their five games since the Portuguese boss took over and now sit outside of the relegation zone on goal difference. There’s still a lot of work to do in order to keep Wolves in the English top-flight but it’s a positive start, having beaten Bristol City in the FA Cup on Saturday, Wolves are looking to extend their unbeaten run on the road to four games for the first time in around 12 months.

Given the form that Newcastle find themselves in, i think we’ll see a home victory in this one but don’t be surprised to see Wolves hit the back of the net, they’ve scored in eight of their last ten Premier League away games.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Newcastle to win, Newcastle 3-1 Wolves.

Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspur – Wednesday, 8pm

What a game we have in store on Wednesday night from the Premier League, the 197th edition of the North London Derby as Tottenham make the short trip to the Emirates Stadium to face bitter rivals Arsenal. – Bet with William Hill for this Premier League clash.

Arsenal would have been hoping to claim at least one trophy this season but that’s looking unlikely now, their 2-0 defeat to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg was followed up with another disappointing result. The Gunners couldn’t find a winner against Manchester United in their FA Cup clash on Sunday despite the Red Devils playing the last thirty minutes with just ten men, the Gunners exited the competition early after getting beat on penalties, with the Arsenal faithful now demanding the club sign a striker as questions start to be asked regarding Mikel Arteta, a defeat here on Wednesday would not go down well at all.

The story of Tottenham Hotspurs season has been the inconsistency, we’re seeing it again from Ange Postecoglou’s side. After beating Liverpool 1-0 in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg, the Lilywhites then travelled to National League side Tamworth in the FA Cup and we’re held after ninety-minutes, it took extra time and some of the more experienced players to enter the field of play before Spurs secured their place in the next round with a 3-0 victory. Ange didn’t seem too bothered by it but an extra 30 minutes before a North London derby wouldn’t be ideal, although it’s now not a disadvantage given Arsenal had to play extra-time themselves and then some.

We should be in for a brilliant battle here, each of the last five meetings played between these two sides at the Emirates Stadium have seen both teams find the back of the net and have produced at least three goals, i’m expecting more entertainment from this one in a derby that always tends to deliver.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score In Both Halves, Arsenal 3-2 Tottenham.
