Man United coach: If they fire me, I will go somewhere else to win titles.
Erik Ten Hag wins the FA Cup
The Manchester United coach stirred controversy with his “fiery” statements on Saturday, just hours after winning the FA Cup.
Dutch coach Erik ten Hag led his team, Manchester United, to a 2-1 victory over the English champions Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
After the match, ten Hag directed his criticism at his detractors, who had attacked him throughout the challenging season, which saw Manchester United finish in eighth place in the Premier League.
A fierce attack from the Dutch coach.
Ten Hag said, “Our team is developing, and we are winning titles. We have won two titles in two years, which is good.”
He added defiantly, “If they no longer want me in the job, I will leave for another club and win titles, as this is what I have been doing throughout my football career.”
He continued, “When I took over Manchester United, the team was in a deplorable state. Now, we are on our way to building a team for the future.”
Ten Hag faced heavy criticism in his second season at Manchester United due to the team’s deteriorating results during the season and their humiliating exit from the Champions League.
